Philosophy Happiness:
Quotes and Quotations
Philosophy happiness.
What does that mean?
It means that your happiness in life depends on your philosophy on life!
Really? Even though “philosophy” can be one of those absurdly pretentious words that seems to have no meaning in daily life?
You know the kind of thing: "Intellectual speculation that critically examines and analyses the grounds for fundamental beliefs and concepts."
Well you can rest assured—that’s not what this section of YummyQuotes.com is about!

So… what is philosophy?
Your philosophy is simply the way you think about life.
It’s the system of values you live by.
And that’s why it’s so important, especially when it comes to your happiness.
Life
To read some excellent and uplifting quotes on how to live life happily, I highly recommend Cute Quotes about Life, like, "Life! Do it with your whole heart," from the Canadian jazz great, Oscar Peterson.

Here's one that expresses something I've always believed: "The good people in this world far outnumber the bad."
And if you're not short on time, how about Good Quotes about Life, like this fabulous quote from Pink: "If God is the DJ, then Life is the dance floor; Love is the rhythm, and You are the music."
Wisdom
Speaking of love, did you know the word “philosophy” comes from the ancient Greek word philosophos, which meant love of wisdom?
Wisdom is not just knowledge. Real wisdom is actually inseparable from compassion.
Applying a positive life philosophy pumps nourishing goodness to the cellular level of your psyche—and benefits everyone.
Here’s the philosophy happiness formula:
Philosophy => Wisdom + Action = Happiness!
When you take action based on wisdom, you can bring harmony and happiness to yourself, your family, your community… your world.
With wisdom, you know what to do to create value in your life.
That’s why one of my favourite definitions of the word philosophy is: a system of principles for guidance in practical affairs.
For instance, how much more practical can you get than this quote? "You can’t prevent what happens to you, but you can choose how you respond." It's from another great Canadian jazz artist, Diana Krall.

Spencer understood that the real purpose of knowledge is to enhance life on Earth. As he put it: "The primary use of knowledge is for such guidance of conduct under all circumstances as shall make living complete. All other uses of knowledge are secondary."
